Our Mission
TheraYouth’s mission is to help children (0-18 years) from low income families overcome physical and developmental barriers by providing outpatient therapy that sets them up for a healthier future. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to pediatric wellness and addressing the healthcare accessibility gap that exists in high-density neighborhoods.
TheraYouth is a non-profit (with 501 C-3 status) pediatric therapy center for families throughout New Jersey, including Newark, Edison, Paterson, and Union County. We provide specialized physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and counseling to children of all ages, from birth to 21 years old.
We will specialize in treating children with injuries from sports, orthopedic, neuromuscular injuries, scoliosis, postural impairment, muscle weakness, developmental delay, speech delay, speech articulation disorders, pronunciation problems, movement disorders, neurological disorders, sensory disorders, feeding difficulties, genetic diagnoses and much more.
Our Story and Goals
Our founder, Dr. Irina Marcoff, DPT, has spent over a decade treating children with various impairments and disabilities in New York City public schools. She worked in mostly low income neighborhoods that do not have physical, speech, and occupational therapy clinics.
This means that most children do not receive the services they need and deserve. School systems, typically, only help students who have more severe challenges, often excluding children with mild to moderate impairments.
Dr. Marcoff created TheraYouth to provide children of all ages and challenges with comprehensive, personalized, expert care in communities where vital services currently do not exist. TheraYouth strives to give all children, from every income level, the opportunity for a healthier and stronger future.
